GAPKINDO 2026 National Working Meeting Focuses on Strengthening Indonesia's Natural Rubber Industry

Medan, August 22, 2026 – The Indonesian Rubber Association (GAPKINDO) successfully held its 2026 National Working Meeting (RAKERNAS) at Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, Bali, on August 20, 2026. The annual forum served as a platform to evaluate the organization's work programs and to formulate GAPKINDO's strategic work plan for the July 2026–June 2027 period.

The meeting was attended by 134 participants representing all seven GAPKINDO regional branches, including members of the Supervisory Board, Executive Board, Regional Branch Boards, the National and Regional Secretariats, and representatives of member companies. Throughout the one-day event, participants took part in four plenary sessions addressing key organizational agendas and current developments in Indonesia's natural rubber industry.

In his opening remarks, GAPKINDO Chairman Alex Kurniawan Edy emphasized that Indonesia's natural rubber industry continues to face significant challenges, including global geopolitical uncertainties, declining rubber production and exports, tightening raw material supplies, and preparations for the implementation of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) at the end of 2026. He expressed hope that the meeting would generate constructive recommendations and practical solutions to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia's rubber industry.

Through the 2026 National Working Meeting, GAPKINDO reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration among the association, industry players, and relevant stakeholders in addressing the challenges facing the sector, while promoting the long-term sustainability and global competitiveness of Indonesia's natural rubber industry.
